“Don’t Fall Back” is a raw confrontation with self-sabotage, stagnation, and the quiet ways we trap ourselves in familiar patterns. The song moves from painful self-awareness to urgency and defiance, capturing the moment when excuses run out and action becomes unavoidable. Breaking the cycle isn’t about perfection or willpower alone—it’s about honesty, momentum, and realizing you don’t have to fight your way out by yourself.

About the band:

The Los Angeles-based Heavy Alt-Rock band Skunk Oil draws inspiration from iconic acts like Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Muse, fusing elements of grunge, metal, alternative, punk, and blues rock. Their sound not only honors rock’s rebellious roots but pushes boundaries with authenticity and artistry.

Their self-released EPs Skeletons in the Closet (2018) and Under Skinned (2022) established their distinctive sonic identity, earning recognition from independent media with standout tracks like “Elephant’s Paw”, “Godlike” and “Heavy Feet, Thin Ice”. Skunk Oil recently completed recording their debut full-length album at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios, now in post-production.

Driven by resilience and creative grit, Skunk Oil embodies the relentless spirit of the underdog, fueled by a hunger to grow and connect with audiences. With high-energy performances at iconic venues like Whisky a Go-Go and the Viper Room, they bring a much-needed freshness to the rock scene.

What began as a dream among three Berklee College of Music students in 2017 has evolved into a powerhouse project, ready to make waves in the industry.
